this game isn't just seamless co-op added to base game, there's a ton of new mechanics that turn it into a very different game.

My friend told me a bit about it without spoilers, rougelike seems fun, but there's only 1 boss so far that isn't recycled from demon souls or elden ring. It was only a playtest and he hopes there's more to it since it's $40.

Well if he do that, then I HAVE to hop on their forums to make countless posts about how lazy their mod is and how anyone who donate to them is dumb, I hate to let other people on the internet do what they want and live their lives! I am not pleased with this 'game' but your take is highly reductive and hurts actual critiques of what Night Reign is and is going to be.

Seamless Coop allows you to play the core gameplay of Elden Ring without needing to constantly connect and reconnect and do multiple runs of the same boss so that your whole team can participate in later content.

Night Reign is an instance based boss rush more akin to the gameplay loop of Monster Hunter than to Elden RIng. Apart from the name and content used from Elden Ring they are entirely different properties.

Your point isn't 'wrong' if you were saying that if you want a Souls-like game to be better, then play Elden Ring with Seamless Coop. But what you are saying is that you can get the same experience of Night Reign as if you were playing Seamless... which is incorrect.

While I myself hate Monster Hunter games and this game isn't going to be any different and is probably the first Fromsoft Title i'm going to skip since before Eternal Ring... but some people do like Monster Hunter games... and the cross over of people who like them and people who like Elden Ring is pretty big as both are Action RPGs. If people like Monster Hunter style games and want one with a vaguely Elden Ring skin over it.. let them... I just hope they don't encourage horrible MTX purchases that this game is going to have and allows Fromsoft to release the next proper Souls-like with entire "DLC" that are armors/weapons only... but we'll see what happens when the time comes to pass.

I've never heard this and there is 0 reason for them to do so... the purpose of seamless coop is to have an unbroken experience of Elden Ring with friends... Night Reign already offers this for it's gameplay.
