- You will not be able to control level ups and they are preset based on the character. (this could also be optional possibly)
I wouldn't call it THE core factor, but a core factor for sure. A souls game is built up of numerous of these core aspects. And these can be played with to a degree that way they can make more distinct experiences whilst it still feels like it has their signature.
Take Sekiro for example.
It a spinoff game.
Honestly kind of a fun idea, but then again they are iconic for their quest taking place in the games they hail from and this isn't exactly built to fit them. These new characters are probably made to blend in more naturally.
