Stay stagnant and let the flame die, or take a risk and run with it? There have been several people saying the Fromsoft formula has become boring and repetitive from game to game (I don't sway either way in that discussion). I think it's a good sign from a company that they're willing to take such a big risk like this.

Sure it is a cash grab. 60 fps lock again, and no 21/32:9 support, again. FromSoftware just copied Seamless Co-op mod, and call it a standalone co-op. Nothing less, nothing more. Why not just add normal co-op mode into Elden Ring, and let us enjoy there? Edit: And January technical beta test is exclusive to consoles only. PC players we are on blacklist or something?
