I no how you can fix the problem checkout below.
When I moved the "intromovie.bik" from
SteamApps\common\262210\UDKGame\Movies\
The Game started successfully.
I Just Re-Encoded the "intromovie.bik" and it fix the problem.
Only now the file size is 73MB Instead of 37,2MB as it was my experiment as I don't no the Video Settings used originally.
If you can Re-encode the video and Upload the file it should solve the crashing problem for all.
With the Re-encoded intro I did I was able to hit the Escape key without it Crashing, so I think there is corruption in the original file.
Nice find with intro movie fix. Hopefully it works for everyone!
In the new Window that pops up, I choose the Save location then on the right I click on the "Bink" Tab.
I do not change any settings at all and let it convert.

Glad I was able to give some help and as soon as I get it I will let you no if it works.
Cheers.
Thanks for the update.
Possibly they did not get the updated file ?
I cannot see why it would not work from what I have seen, unless there download has corrupted the file again, only a guess of course.
UPDATE:
I just Uninstalled the game and re-installed it to get the proper Last Knight folder name instead of the id folder name.
When 1st started it crashed and was not in full screen mode, so started it straight away again this time it went into full screen mode and it did not crash when pressing the Escape key.
Just thought I would add this info.
I don't know what kind of data/results you have seen, but anyway this might be a good opportunity to create a separate beta branch for testing and ask for some volunteers to opt into it. That way any potential fix you test only gets pushed out to them. Then when a resolution looks promising, you can then release the build on the main branch. I would have volunteered to help out but my game isn't crashing.
