Does Suge9 get a cut?
and anyone else associated with the original free release I guess.

If the money just goes to the localization team, I'm not interested (I'll just stick with what I already have), but if those people responsible for the creation of the original game itself get some of the profits, then yeah, by all means, take my money.

They're not exactly very helpful.

A "working relationship" with a freeware dev doesn't say a whole lot. It's a simple "yes" or "no" question and well... the official answer doesn't say either. Which sounds a little too dodgey for me at the moment.

Others, of course, can take this as they like.

Have ever heard about a little thing called "Non-Disclosure Agreement"?

That's an usual practice on business. Open your mouth and you're breaching a contract, which means legal trouble for you. This is why anyone who publish games here on Steam can't talk about the exact revenue splits, or any terms imposed by Valve outside of those allowed to be publically disclosed, because noone wants to deal with lawyers and courtrooms.

The answer from eigoMANGA sounds like a normal and legit "yes" to me. Again, usual biz talk, which might sound vague to some (and that's normal too). While I get your concerns regarding Sugeno and this whole deal (and we've seen cases in the past where things turned to be outright scams), you need to learn a bit more about business and contractual obligations. If you have a work as an employee of any organization, take a few minutes to read your contract terms - you most likely will find something which involves NDAs and "you should not talk about certain things in public". Yes, it sucks, but that's how things works in this enviromnment.

tl;dr: blame beancounters.

Hey, I'm not trying to blame eigoMANGA, and I understand that a contract my include an NDA, but nonetheless, they gave a non-answer; I'm looking for an answer.

TERA, as in the MMORPG.
Oh.

Heh, that makes it sound like he's trapped in the game, .hack-style.

It's as if eigoMANGA has gone all silent as to what is going on with this matter.....like they refuse to answer it or anything that's not technical to the game. Anything related to Sugeno-san seems to get avoided by them.

I would contact Austin (CEO of eigoMANGA) and ask him personally but I feel it will get avoided as well.

Hopefully last time someone posts about this, but I doubt it:\

Suspicion of eigoManga will continue and if not

What else do you freaking want? Sugeno most likely doesn't even have a steam account, and even then he can't write in english, and even THEN you would still believe is not him replying to you.

Would you like him to record himself with all the legal paperwork and with today's newspaper at hand to prove that he's getting his cut?

No. But maybe a simple post with Steam release announcement at his own blog would be fine. It's very common and not difficult.
