The stick trumps the pad if set as a directional. If you haven't updated to the newest, borderless version, running in XP SP3 compatibility works for 360 controllers.
-First I turned off the Steam control support.
-Then run DS4Windows program.
-Then I set it to "hide ds4 controller" which makes my PC to believe I have an xbox controller plugged in.
-Lastly, check that box in the game settings that says something like "activate game controller"
With this I was able to get my DualShock to work plugged in. It even made my d pad usable!
The only issues I'm having is the game forces your controller to be read for both Player 1 and 2. So anytime you load up Vs Mode, both characters will react with the same buttons! A partial fix for doing Practice Mode is to remap Player 2's buttons, I recommend the L3 button since it's not used anyways. There doesn't seem to be a way to remap the directionals however, so Player 2 will be moving with Player 1 still.
