Can Get Past Zombie in Room 5

I know darn well the solution regarding the vines, but I can't even get past the third zombie I encounder in the room with the five snakes tile -- it's in the freggin' way of the door! Am I going the wrong way or is this another glitch? I'm getting sick and tired of seeing the death sequence over and over without shutting it up and trying again (that part always gave me nightmares when I was a kid and saw that the first time my parents played it).

When you enter room #5, wait for about 3-5 seconds as the zombie appoarches you. Then you have to move to the upper right corner (near the torch) wait for another second or two then head for the door. Gabe should get past the zombies. It's very similar to the original version.
