edit: so, it would be the level after the next one that you're one now. If you beat Rogiro then you're on the snowy Mountain level (Grey Teeth?) that ends with the Tormentor fight.
The game revolves around being able to get the most out of the crafting system. If you don't know what you're doing, it's easy to craft poor spells, or to use them poorly (e.g. you aren't stacking mastery and aren't consuming it with other spells). The former is fixed by learning the crafting mechanics, which is obviously not super straightforward, and the latter is fixed by learning the mechanics of how spells work in battle. Point being, if you don't take the time to learn about how these two things work, you're gonna have a bad time with the game, hence why the reviews aren't great.
