Increasing performance on lower end graphics cards- Tips
Hi all, first of all let me say that I like this game a lot!!
Now, I'm sure I'm not the only one with a low end graphics card and a decent (not great) CPU.
My specs are:
64-bit Windows 8.1
8 Gigs ram
Nvidia Geforce GT120 (VERY low end OEM GPU, similar to 9500GT from what I've heard)
Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 @ 2.33 ghz (4 cores)

So today I'll be sharing what I have done to get the game to a working state on my PC.

INGAME:
- changed graphics setting to "Very low"
- changed resolution to 1280x768
- made it windowed

IN NVIDIA CONTROL PANEL:
- First of all, went to per-app/Program settings and chose the game .exe
- Turned Ambient Occlusion off
- Turned Anistropic Filtering off
- Changed texture quality to "High performance"
- "Multi-Display/Mixed GPU Performance": If you have only one card and one display, change this to "Single display mode"
- there are MANY settings here that I did not include (as I am not familiar with all of them), so you should test some of them out and find a preference.

IN TASK MANAGER:
- I killed unnecessary services and background applications (i.e. Punkbuster). Only kill the ones that you know are safe to kill!

WINDOWS 7:
- Disabling Aero may give you a slight boost. I have not found a way to do this in 8 or 8.1.

REGARDING OVERCLOCKING GPUS:
My GPU is overclocked and I've seen a huge improvement in performance. I cannot reccomend this option because it may shorten the lifespan of your GPU and you have to be careful when ramping the clocks up. If you are considering this, do plenty of research first!

AMD?
I don't own a PC with an AMD GPU. I don't know how the settings work for these GPUs, but if anyone with a lower-end GPU would like to contribute their tips, they're more than welcome.

Okay guys that's it!! I hope I helped and I hope this clears up anything for potential buyers with not-so-good GPUs... (:
