[First] :
- Download the language pack provided by TheDeeGee on GOG.
https://www.gog.com/forum/populous_series/populous_the_beginning_language_pack
- Extract the "language" folder from the archive to your Populous 3 directory (".../steamapps/common/Populous 3").
- Overwrite the files.
[Second] :
- Open "notepad.exe".
- Go to your Populous 3 directory (".../steamapps/common/Populous 3").
- Drag and drop the "regs.cmd" file into the notepad window opened previously.
- At line 10 of the document, copy and paste the following line: "REG ADD %regpath% /v "Language" /t REG_DWORD /d x /f /reg:32"
- You need to replace "x" with the language code you want:
For English: 9
For Dutch: 19
For French: 1036
For German: 7
For Spanish: 10
For Swedish: 29
For Polish: 21
- Save changes.
And voilà, your game is in another language.
Have you completed the first step correctly?
If you do the second one without it, it crashes because the build we got doesn't have the correct language files.
How I did it:
Don't change anything in the regedit entries
Instead: take a *.dat from the rar file, rename it to lang00.dat and overwrite the original in the game language folder.
In the rar file the lang02.dat is e.g. for German
