Welcome! I also just use the 1.5 patch. Multiverse is also a 1.5 patch but from a different team. It is great and easy but the one from populous3.info just has better improvements I find and 8 player support.
Don't forget when you've launched the game to go into the game options and set the actual game resolution in there. What's happening is the game is trying to stretch out to be 4k.
Mutliverse uses 1.01 as a base, not 1.5. Mutliverse is designed around singleplayer campaigns. 1.5 has a tendency to break custom campaigns and their AI, hence it's generally not advised to use 1.5 for Singleplayer unless the campaign is specifically made for it, such as the Spring Seasons campaign.
Quick question tho, is 1.5 multiplayer enabled? Couldnt see an option.
People keep bumping this till it becomes a sticky or something.
I'm totally confused now. I thought 1.5 is Populous Enhanced (which is what Multiverse have on their website), and then I've no idea what popre provides as theirs 1.5
The new posts you see on TheBeginning's website about Enhanced are for 1.5, aka what's used in Multiplayer on Popre. Anything that says "Multiverse" is for Mutliverse's modified version of 1.01 which can only be played through the Launcher. They are two different versions and not compatable with each other.
This is why the news posts for 1.5 do not discuss major changes to the Multiverse, and the Multiverse news posts do not discuss major changes to previous versions of 1.5, save for the Multiverse Map Editor which has support for both versions.
1.03 is a community patch that's hosted on PopRe in their download section. That's a VERY old patch that I don't believe is used anymore, as with a few other downloads on PopRe.
1.01 is what Multiverse uses as a base. 1.5 is a heavily modified 1.01.
You can find more details about 1.03 here: https://www.popre.net/downloads.php
So many different options for game, I've never expected :)
