It's true that IPs like Gargoyle's Quest ( GB ), Actraiser ( SNES ), Battletoads or Capital Punishment ( Amiga AGA ) were beastly hard, but there were still games around that were easy ( Mr Nutz, Tiny Toons, Kerby, James Pond, Final Fight Series, Axeley, Kung Fu Master https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZ-73SmqLwc etc.) even compared to nowadays Triple AAA Production standards.
Ori and the blind forest has still some issues that need to be addressed. Why does ori have to loose 5 capacities of his life gauge when he gets hit by a green slime ball? Why does ori get killed instantly for touching ground spikes?
Why is a player unable to create a savegame during these hard chase sequences?
From my point of view the devs made these decisions to artificially lengthen the game time, because all in all Ori is not a enormous game.
But youre right. This game is still manageable! Games like Electronic Super Joy or even the last escape sequence in Trine are way harder than Ori!!
The rest of what you wrote was opinion so fair enough. The above however is simply wrong given only 28% of players finished it.
Achievement statistics are meaningless. Go look at the achievements for Nekopara.

That's a game where you can literally turn on autoplay, walk away from your computer, and the game will beat itself. 29% of players have beaten the game.
Just because the majority of players haven't finished a game, doesn't mean they quit because it was too hard. As far as platformers go, Ori is not particularly difficult, especially compared to games like Super Meat Boy.
I"m not sure if you feel it's wrong by doing it but you can always look it up on youtube if you feel its too hard. get a little help then try it yourself
Never have a game give me such a kick during the game play, the adrenaline rush and pure joy I had during my first play of Ginso Tree...oh boy...I realize I was really tense but I was also smiling all the way
Tell me more as people pass Dark Souls.
Also, you probably took those statistics according to the achievement, there is something funny about those statistics, more people found the first secret than people who begun the game.
I'm pretty well inexperienced when it comes to platformers, and I managed to finish Ori just fine. Just keep at it, it's not that difficult.
I think that is actually a large amount. Most games i see are waaay lower than this game.
Many people just buy, play a bit and move on or never play it at all.
I killed Ori about 200 times on purpose to gain full energy during hard sequences, because I didn't find many extra life containers during my quest.
Fly'N has also very hard chase sequences. In one of them I died like 70 times to make it through. Compared to this Ori is a walk in the park.
But I must admitt that I never want to come back to Ori or Fly'N. It was a nice experience but I like my games easier. I'm 35 years now, got two daughters, a house with a huge garden. I don't have the time or the patience any more to play sequences again and again.
