Wall Cling is Bugged.
So I'm getting towards the end of the game, my death count is 897 ....
Only a good third of those were legitimate deaths.

The rest of them were either me failing at timing puzzles, or saving in a bad spot.
But there is one huge cause of death on my current save file.

Early on in the game you get a Wall Cling ability, that would be fine if it worked properly!

To cling to left walls I have to use the A key and to cling to right walls (reliably) I have to use the right arrow key.

Further, Ori can cling to ANY surface, this includes spikes, both rocks and thorns, as well as ice spikes.

Even worse, you can fase through the thorns during your 3 frames of invincibility after being hit and CLING TO THE WALLS BEHIND THEM.

This should not be in a finished game, granted it's from microsoft so no surprise it's buggy as hell in places, but come on, these are amature hit detection issues.

I will probably have to start my file over from the beginning, but only after this is reported to be fixed.

The 'unsafe' zones are also a bit weird in their pacing, I can understand in the temple escape sections, but beyond that? There are very few places where the 'unsafe' zones actually made sense. Save for two or three of them, those who have at least completed the game know the segments I'm talking about.

It's a great game, and I've tried to be patient with this flaw, but this is too much.
The only time I expect this high of a death count from a platformer should be from Super Meat Boy or I want to be the guy. Masochistic stuff like that, not a simple but challenging platformer that is otherwise well put together.

It's "from" microsoft in the sense that they helped publish/promote/bankroll it while "Moon Studios" did all the development. Microsoft had nothing to do with wall cling not working properly.

It is partially Microsofts fault, they helped publish a game that wasn't completely bug free yet.
Moon studios needs to get on this issue because it really is bugging me. just about 80% of my deaths were from that or being knocked back into spikes and having those issues
Also more controller support besides X box controller would be nice.
As well as steam overlay.

I had absolutely no problem with clinging. I used an Xbox 360 gamepad and everything was butter smooth. Once you have all your powers the game makes you feel really powerful.

Maybe you should try a Xinput wrapper with your gamepad.

Your computer must be ♥♥♥♥♥♥, man. Steam overlay works fine for me, as does my decidedly non xbox logitech rumblepad 2 controller.

i havent have any trouble with the game, at all, i havent found, ANY single bug, and i ran the game with a 98 % completion ratio, 291 deaths total,

playing with a x360 controller,

maybe you are just not good enough :) keep jumping!

Not sure if clinging to thorns classifies as a "bug" or not but it surely is annoying.

Not surprising it works perfectly with a controler sponsered by microsoft...just saying.

"Playing with an X360 controller"

I rest my case, using a keyboard the controls are far from perfect and steam overlay doesn't work. It's highly possible the developer did this to promote the purchase of Xbox gamepads.

The only controllers I own are PS3 controllers and Wii/WiiU stuff, I'm not going to go out and buy an X bone controller just to play one game properly. It's not worth it, even on a used controller.

I have already stated that only a third of those deaths were legitimate (most of which were due to rushing on timing puzzles) The rest were caused by these bugs that shouldn't be in such an otherwise well polished game. If anyone needs proof I'll gladly make a video

This game isn't -hard- and it certainly isn't Super Meat Boy level of BS in regards to timing puzzles (although some cases are, they aren't hard if you work through them patiently) I suggest playing using a keyboard to anyone who's going 'nuh uh this isn't bugged'.

All the people who say it isn't is using some kind of gamepad, which isn't helping my case.
