XBox 360 controller is not working. (FIXED)
So yah, like the title says, I can't get my controller working. It's not the controller, as it works with every other compatible game, but for some reason, this game refuses to recognize it.

For now, I've been simply mapping the buttons to the keyboard, but it's both annoying and confusing to keep seeing pop-ups asking me to press a key and then trying to remember which one they actually mean. So I'd rather actually get the controller working properly.

Anyone else had the same problem? If so, were you able to fix it somehow?

The controller's wired, by the way. Don't know if that changes anything, but I don't see how it would.

EDIT:
Basically, all you have to do is open the game with the gamepad connected. If it's not working, click the screen to get past the "press any button" prompt, unplug the controller, and plug it back in. It should work right away.

I assume your controller works fine on other games. Do you have any sideware that might interfere with your controller? Programs like, say, vJoy seem to cause oddities for some people.

Another possible fix might be updating your controller drivers.

Lol. Very true. I'm only laughing as updating the nvidia shield controller driver makes its Ori problems worse.

The only similar software I have is Joy to Key, but I actually installed it after trying out the controller on its own. I really know what the problem is here.

Oh, by the way, I managed to fix this yesterday at some point. After trying out a bunch of stuff like uninstalling every single gamepad-related software, or upgrading drivers, I found out that the gamepad magically started working once I reconnected it while the game is running.

So like, the game was opened with the XBox controller already connected. At this point, it wouldn't get detected at all, no button inputs would do anything, and the in-game button prompts all referred to the keyboard.

Plugging it out and back in made it actually work completely out of nowhere. But oddly enough, nothing would change when I reconnected the controller before actually starting the game. It has to be while it's running, otherwise, nothing happens. Also, it has to be after 'pressing any button' in the title screen, when you're in the menu.

I have a wierd problem of it not recognising my RT or LT buttons but the rest of it works fine. Anybody else have this problem?

There are loads of threads in this forum with LT or RT in the title. That answer your question? ;-) Until we see the official patch, try https://github.com/Ryochan7/antimicro/releases to map LT & RT to w & shift.
