Well, that was fun. Any other games like it?
Hey all,
I just finished Ori and it was really good.
Haven't played many platformers since well ... SNES days, but I really enjoyed Ori.
I enjoyed the metroidvania aspects and the actual platforming bits.
Can you suggest some metroidvania platformers to me?

Definitely Dust. The second I booted Ori I was immediately reminded of Dust.
Valdis Story, its a bit unknown but it is brilliant and will fit your craving.

I bought Dust a while back but couldn't get into it.
I'll give it another go.
Valdis Story looks pretty good.
Sweet, I'd love to know how Valdis Story turns out for you!

Guacamelee as well

Do not pass on Guacamelee Super Turbo Championship Edition. I loved Ori but Guacamelee has got to be the best platformer in recent years.

Outland
Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet
Shadow Complex (if you have an xbox 360)

La Mulana, no brainer. Its harder than Ori and pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awesome. Altho its more like a castlevania that had sex with Dark Souls than a metroidvania.

If you re lookin for another top notch quality Metroidvania -> Strider. Just dont think, get it. Really really really worth the money. Same for Dust that someone else proposed earlier

La-Mulana... Be warned, the game is hard as ♥♥♥♥ and does not hold your hand. Amazing none-the-less.

Two new Rayman games.

Well yeah, but a great platformers which are almost as beautiful as Ori is.

Strider is a great metroidvania, often overlooked. Different visual style, similar gameplay.

Maybe that not what youre looking for, but i hightly recommend:

TRANSISTOR

This Game is maybe not a platformer, it dosnt challange you like Ori does.
But its definitely a One-of-a-kind-Game like Ori. And the Soundtrack - in my humble opinion- is the best of all games i ever heard. When it comes to the artstyle/feeling-factor of games, Ori and Transistor have - at least some - things in common.
