16:9 resolution but can't get full screen, options menu bugs.
I read this game was optimized for 16:9 screens, but when I go into the menu settings and try to turn on fullscreen, it refuses to do so. It just remains set to 'Off' which at least it's being honest. I'd be more irritated if it said 'On' without being fullscreen. Even the Alt+Enter shortcut is not working. When I manually click the maximize button in the upper right corner, I can still see the window bar along the top of my screen and the taskbar below does not disappear.I'm sorry but for such a beautiful game, it's inexcusable to expect it to be played with visible OS bars. It's incredibly distracting.

Another minor annoyance: whenever I try change the Fullscreen setting, it disables my controller and I have to reconfigure the input settings so it works again (a real pain in the butt if I must say).

Try activating fullscreen with the keyboard, if it disables your controller?

Some things are really strange. The only problem I encounter is when I alt-tab out of the game, when I come back it's windowed (while still saying fullscreen in the options). But a alt-enter fixes it.

I did try that before and that isn't working either. When I do it with the keyboard it certainly attempts to activate fullscreen (game refreshes), but it only changes the resolution from 1920x1080 to 1920x1017, which results in it not entirely filling up the screen and me seeing the visible windows bars. The fullscreen status continues to read 'Off' as well. Considering the latter ratio isn't even an option in the drop-down menu to begin with, I find this puzzling.

I suggest you hold shift while launching the game, and try to set the configuration to fullscreen there. Otherwise another option is to add a startup parameter to the game. ' -popupwindow '
Then go into game and change resolution, this is how I get full screen windowed to avoid vsync and screen tearing issues,

I did the shift while launching, and it seems to almost get it into fullscreen. I think the issue here is the vertical alignment of the game's fullscreen is not fitting exactly with my monitor, its off about 1/4", but I have never experienced this with any other game.

Even if I were to ignore that, the issue remains with the input controls being disabled. Once the opening cutscene is finished, I can't interact with the menu without using my mouse (neither controller nor keyboard work). As soon as I use the mouse to click on the game, it exits fullscreen mode. Then I reconfigure the input controls, having tested both keyboard and controller, and they will both work only when the game is not "fullscreen". Anytime I reenter fullscreen mode, the sound is disabled and I once again can't interact with the game without mouse-clicking. It's like it's treating the game as running in the background even though it's the only visible thing on my screen.

Ooooookay, I think I finally figured this damn thing out. I went into my Steam settings and turned off the "Enable Stream Overlay while in-game" option, and relaunched it. Now controller/keyboard input will work in fullscreen mode and I'm going to just deal with the 1/4" vertical offset because I need to play this game before my head explodes.

And I just attempted to replicate it, and it's not working again. Tired of screwing around with this. I'll try again tomorrow.

Just a small suggestion, the program is pretty easy to operate. https://github.com/Codeusa/Borderless-Gaming I use that for some games that are a bit stubborn. Let me know how things go. Did you by chance try the -popupwindow startup option? This will open the game without any windows border.
