Either my computer also sucks, or it is a game issue
CPU: AMD A8-4500APU 1.9GHz
RAM: 4gb
Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 7640g
First time this happened I checked my GPU temp - it was rather normal, around 68 C. Should have checked CPU as well, but damn, who knew this game is so horribly CPU-reliant? Not to mention it's all-2D. Second time this happened I decided to check other temps too, and found to my horror that my poor AMD practically burns throught the floor.
Story-wise, friend made it to some dark forest, and says he's 50% or so done. He played, let's say... Around 4 hours totally, with pause after first crash (we had some other stuff to do).
That is to say, I myself play Tera, Neptunia, and usually have loads of stuff simultaneously open and working. My specs are: AMD Athlon X2 64 5000+ and Radeon 5700 HD (Catalyst 13.12), so naturally, my PC sounds like shuttle before take off when some visuals-heavy game is loaded, but never before it overheated so hard.
To finish, I must say that this is probably first Unity game (serious one at least) which my PC played, so problem may reside either in poor optimisation on devs side, or in engine itself.
The thing is, regardless of how well your other games run, most of the cases where a game overheats your CPU to such an extent are signs that there is something wrong with your hardware. It's extremely rare that a game ships out with a resource leak of such a degree because once the leak is proven, the publisher becomes easy to sue.
Seriously, open up your computer and check the fans. You most likely need to have them cleaned, that is the most common source of severe overheating while playing games.
Not saying that it is impossible. But I have not seen a modern CPU not throttle itself, To keep at it's TJ Max.
Maybe your cooling paste is too old or the cooler isnt attached correctly. Something like that.
I mentioned the specs to my computer in an earlier post, but here they are again:
CPU: AMD A8-4500APU 1.9GHz
RAM: 4gb
Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 7640g
Also, I don't know how to check the dxdiag output.
