So how hard is it?
I have never been particularly good at video games, and my biggest weakness is probably 2D platformers, and especially platformers like super meat boy, beacuse dying over and over and over, is just not fun to me, beacuse I don't have the patience to learn it properly, and I rage quite easily. BUT I still kinda wanna buy this game, cause it looks absolutely stunning.
So, how hard is this game? Am I just gonna start rageing after a couple of hours and give up?

There's some decent challenging moments here and then and you need to be good at what you re doin. Its not super very hard but if you re the kind that struggle with precision on a 2d platformer you should just skip i.

I'd say that its harder than the latest Rayman (both origins and legends)

Mind you Super Meat Boy was that hard on purpose. I don't think a dev would make a game this beautiful and make it so hard you'd never take the time to look around and smell the roses.

I don't know, you never know. some devs can be pretty sadistic no matter what :P

Hmm, I should probably just stay away then. I did decent with Rayman Origins, but started struggeling after a while.

yeah you probably struggled at the end like everyone, its just that in Ori there are some pretty frustrating difficulty spikes but nothing unbeatable

And its probably at those parts I'll probably rage and give up :P So I think I'll pass for now, maybe look at it again when its on sale.

However Ori has a nice feature that let's you place your own checkpoint, so if something stumps you, you can just place a checkpoint right before it and keep trying without wasting time getting there over and over again.

To be sure, it does seem to wear on you emotionally until you learn the trick or mechanic to the particular sequence.

It's not so much difficult as it is learning the trick to the sequences. Once you learn that you'll find replaying the challenging segments incredibly easy, then it's just a matter of enjoying the action of the scene.

There's two escapes I have replayed already so far and I was able to breeze through it.

That's one of the best and worst things about the game. It's nice that you can set your own checkpoints but if you forget to set one and get pretty far without setting another, you'll lose a lot of progress if you die. I guess it's not as much of a problem later in the game once you find more energy cells.

You can not do this in all places. I am at a sequence where I've repeated the same roughly 45 second stretch of game play for about 45 minutes. I'm done with this game for now. I'll try again in a few days. Too frustrated to continue now.

In Metroid you have plenty of life though

Damn I'm in the ruins, and wow the difficulty went up a notch. Dat roofwalking and reverse falling!
