Moon Grotto 4-cell Door, got only 2
So... I'm stuck near the laser puzzle in the Moon Grotto. I only have two energy cells capacity, and the Moon Grotto offers one upgrade.
But the door blocking the stone blocking the laser requires four cells to open.
Any change to do it without save editing?

Keep playing until you find another energy cell, then come back... why are you jumping straight to save editing? :angryofficer:

You don't have to open it to progress. Just go on and return once you have enough energy cells. Or you can look for more energy cells in the areas which you already visited, explore the paths covered in black fog-of-war in the map and you should find at least two more energy cells.

Alternatively there's a technique I saw being used in speedruns where you place 3 energy units, and then time it with a level up so you get full energy refill and can put the last one in.

"Hey, there's something here I really can't reach in any way! Save editing must be how to get it!"
Yeah, sure... Backtracking doesn't exist at all in any game through history, so your reaction makes perfect sense... :P

Come back later, when you'll have more energy cells. Simple as that.

@all there's no way out of Moon Grotto until solving this puzzle and getting to the Acenstor Tree for the skills needed to escape. And the Grotto only has one Energy Upgrade cell. So since I got with two cells available into it, there's no way to spend four cells without the level up trick.

Besides, this is my mom playing the game through and she got stuck at this unfortunate puzzle.
I've finished it with nearly-100% completion myself, so please keep your "cheating" related comments to yourself.

There's only two. One is available, and the other is BEHIND this puzzle.

There's nothing but this energy cell behind that energy door. It can't prevent progress.

Then you should know you don't need to open that door to get out of there.

That's something you're supposed to come back for later once you have more energy cells. Seriously, just because you see something doesn't mean you can get it right then and there. Think Super Metroid, which this game has a lot in common with. You must be new to Metroidvania games.

Taking a wild guess, I think the point of confusion might be because... well, you're supposed to go the other way - over the water - but there are some pretty hectic wall-jumping sections that way. But they're possible - just have to bite the bullet :)
That energy door doesn't guard anything you need at this time to make further progress - there is an extra energy cell but it won't do much to help you progress now anyway.

I ran into this problem last night. I simply backtracked a few steps, found the energy cells then went to the door, plugged them in a voila. Also when you get to that part near the swinging spider above the 4 energy cell door, there is a bunch of energy cells which you can explode to fill your energy bars. I didnt know this until i had done it but i just used my initiative and backtracked through the map and easily found some :)

Hmmm a door that requires 4 energy cells and I only have 2? Well, I better cheat my way through the door instead of taking the mind numbingly obvious route!

To those being complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, I’m sorry you have such a terrible life that you need to criticize others rather than be helpful as these forums are intended. If you bothered enough to read the OP subject line you’d see that they can’t collect 4 energy cells at once. So it’s not simply go collect them and come back.

The solution is to proceed through the area to the left of the door. It has some crazy jumps that will require double jump. Proceeding through this area and up the walls will lead you out of the area entirely and provide you with the Vein.
