Ori is a goat monkey?

Yeah, Ori is a goat monkey, and judging by the scene where Kuro is first shown, the rest of the spirit guardians were all sorts of different animal hybrids too. Technically though, they're also probably seeds in a sense, they come from the tree not unlike leaves or maple seeds, and when they die seem to grow into mini spirit trees themselves.

Pretty much, yes. It's not all that easy to tell at a glance what exactly Ori is, but anyone who has seen it's model, or heard the one who designed Ori's explanation should know what Ori actually looks like. I've also seen a few artists who are aware that Ori has goat hooves, who give it paws anyway because they think it looks odd. For me at least though, the fact that Ori is this strange hybrid animal that looks out of the ordinary adds to the character's appeal.

As I recall, older designs for Ori had antlers, but they were removed because they looked unwieldy. This suggests to me that Ori was inspired by fauns from Greek mythology.

I still call her a "light cat," hooves or not.

Yeah, Ori was definitely based on a satyr, the reasoning being that Ori was supposed to be based off of a "forest creature", so now the antlers have been shrunk down into small horns. Given that Spirit Guardian is too much of a title in my opinion, I like to call Ori's kind "Light Sprites", seeing as they are definitely fey creatures.

Also, pretty much anything that has paws walks on the balls of their feet, that's the part where paw pads are.
