Forlorn Ruins under 6 minutes
This is probably my best attempt at Forlorn Ruins. Time is slightly under 6 minutes (from entering the Forlorn Ruins to the moment when you can talk to Sein and start the escape) without the escape section of the ruins which is excluded from this attempt. I obviously skipped the three hidden areas during this, would have taken longer and added additional risk of dying here and there.

How you have done Forlorn Ruins? What you have done differently compared to this? Was Forlorn Ruins easy for you? Did you have fun in the area? Was the gravity sphere confusing to use? Let me hear your opinion and thoughts about the Forlorn Ruins.

Unfortunately I did make a few mistakes during this but I believe they didn't cost me more than 10 - 20 seconds at most.

The instakill beams moving back and forth are infuriating, otherwise the ruins aren't all that bad. Didn't really have much trouble with the sphere since I knew what I was doing beforehand, in fact after playing it 2-3 times you can even just say screw it and start skipping some of the areas it wants you to do it at, by just jumping/gliding over them.

Ok, I'm going to start off bya saying this was miserable to watch. The recording seemed to be playing at maybe 6fps.

From a speed runners standpoint you did seem to take a lot of nice routes but incredibly slowly and no where near optimal at a lot of places. Killing random blue monsters with down smash , missing proper placement with spider projectiles, running all the way onto the roof when you could easily jump from the wall to thenext location.

If the point of this video was jsut to help people whoa re having a hard time getting through this sectionof the game, I must ask is there really a huge need for this? I get it can be frustrating to have directions upside down forsome players but i ahven't ran into many stories of people saying they are stuck here.

Lastly from a speedrunner's view point, You don't come down the forlorn ruins at all. Can beat the game without it. But if they did come here, could get through the area in under 4 minutes. - So cutting out 10-20 secodns isn't going to cut it.

Lastly from a speedrunner's view point, You don't come down the forlorn ruins untill after you get charge jump. Which allows you to skip a ton more shortcuts and shaves off at least 2 minutes from your current run.
Thank for your input but I probably should have said that I'm completely casual player, not a speedrunner. And I really must apologize for the quality and frame rate of the video, I tried to record it with three different software and the other two gave just a black screen with working audio. In the first place I wasn't even sure how good or bad the whole video would turn out to be, laptops aren't exactly known for their specs.

If you are viewing it completely from a speedrunners point of view then I can understand why you think I wasted your time. There were a lot of places that I could have done much better or skip some more. In my defense I can say that at least I didn't die during this but that probably doesn't make you feel better.

I'd say that one point of this video was to show how even a casual player can get through Forlorn Ruins in a relatively nice time and without deaths to those players who have had major difficulties in Forlorn Ruins on their first playthrough. It's definitely not the most amazing video there ever has been but it is something that I can be proud of (aside from the video quality).

Again, try to see it from some other perspective than speedrunner's. I always come to Forlorn Ruins after Misty Woods and before Sorrow Pass therefore I wouldn't have been able to get charge jump. And if I wanted to cut more time then why didn't I duplicate 4 door keys before entering the Forlorn Ruins? Because I wanted to get them from the place where the game wants you to get them.

I had about 2 or 3 practice runs and one recording (with black screen video) run before I noticed video wasn't working properly, then I fixed the video (or at least made it show) before I started this recording. Aside from that (and my previous playthroughs of the game) I haven't really done Forlorn Ruins all that much.

Thank you again for your thoughts and sorry about wasting your time.
