I still don't get why does almost everyone hate DE because it's a separate game.
In essence, it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid. Worse than Capcom, at least they give you an option to upgrade at half or a portion of the price for games they re-release.
It's a MetroidVania game, at least it calls itself that, if I miss an item on my first run through an area I should be able to go back and get it.
The game requires 100% for an achievement and these games always have something as reward for it. I should not have the restart the game or buy a new copy just because I missed an item.
You're ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ retarded.
There were a lot of things like this that we wanted to improve, and it just wouldn't have been viable for us to do that in a free patch. Development is very costly, unfortunately.
We didn't want people to pay full price for it twice though, so for people who already own the game, like you, we've put in a discount of 75% - so it's more like an expansion.
My apologies. Would've been nice to have some kind of upgrade option but eh.
Sooner or later I'll want to try again so I guess I'll consider my options.
Any way to transfer my save file to the new game?
Hmm... fair enough.
Guess I'll have to manage.
Spiky wind hell here I come.
Er, you say this as if this is an odd thing. It's been a staple of video games for decades. Actually usually the new people will pay less and get a better experience.
You're telling me you couldn't afford to move a rock from Forlorn Ruins' entrance? That seems like it'd take a few lines of code, not thousands of dollars. This game made a ton of revenue and had incredible reception. I'm baffled that it hasn't been fixed in the game's successive patches.
Edit: Really, no offense to you or your team. This is a masterpiece of a game, but that's a pretty poor excuse for being unable to mend such a small error in level design. It's far too tedious to replay the entire game to regain access to an area that should have been open in the first place.
