Forlorn Ruins locked forever?
So Forlorn Ruins locks up after you leave it, and as far as I can see there's no way to get back in there. Google agrees. Why is this a thing that can happen?
Every other area is 100% right now except that one and I hated this game before but this is just wonderful.

Play Definitive Edition. There is a backtrack support. You will be able to destroy the boulder with a new ability or you can teleport between spirit wells.

It's not my fault. Why are you so mean.
I still don't get why does almost everyone hate DE because it's a separate game.
Cumbusted Apr 30, 2016 @ 7:55am
Because I shouldn't have to buy the game all over again to get two items locked off by some ♥♥♥♥♥♥ oversight in the original version, that's without mentioning there's no option to simply upgrade, and there's really nothing in any way amazing about the new one, it has like two new abilities and nothing else noteworthy.
In essence, it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid. Worse than Capcom, at least they give you an option to upgrade at half or a portion of the price for games they re-release.

you should've discovered it 100% while you where in there. same goes for the Ginso tree and Mt Horu

That goes against all logic and it's dumb game design.
It's a MetroidVania game, at least it calls itself that, if I miss an item on my first run through an area I should be able to go back and get it.
The game requires 100% for an achievement and these games always have something as reward for it. I should not have the restart the game or buy a new copy just because I missed an item.
You're ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ retarded.

Hey now, please keep it nice in here :) no need for curses.

There were a lot of things like this that we wanted to improve, and it just wouldn't have been viable for us to do that in a free patch. Development is very costly, unfortunately.

We didn't want people to pay full price for it twice though, so for people who already own the game, like you, we've put in a discount of 75% - so it's more like an expansion.

Sorry I'm a little pissy today and this didn't help. You seem nice though.
My apologies. Would've been nice to have some kind of upgrade option but eh.
Sooner or later I'll want to try again so I guess I'll consider my options.
Any way to transfer my save file to the new game?
Melodia Apr 30, 2016 @ 11:27am
There IS an 'upgrade' option. It's $5 (or equivilant in your currency).

I'm afraid not. We've added a lot of small things throughout the whole game world, and a whole new area, so it was impossible to keep old save files compatible.

Hmm... fair enough.
Guess I'll have to manage.
Spiky wind hell here I come.

Er, you say this as if this is an odd thing. It's been a staple of video games for decades. Actually usually the new people will pay less and get a better experience.

You're telling me you couldn't afford to move a rock from Forlorn Ruins' entrance? That seems like it'd take a few lines of code, not thousands of dollars. This game made a ton of revenue and had incredible reception. I'm baffled that it hasn't been fixed in the game's successive patches.

Edit: Really, no offense to you or your team. This is a masterpiece of a game, but that's a pretty poor excuse for being unable to mend such a small error in level design. It's far too tedious to replay the entire game to regain access to an area that should have been open in the first place.

You can blow up that rock that is blocking you with a charged shot. I thought I was locked out as well, but that isn't the case. After the Owl is gone, you can go up to that rock and blast it away. At first I thought I was screwed, just as you're saying, but you're not......
