Why do we have to download 2 versions of the game ?

Yesterday i bought this game buy why I have to download Ori and the blind forest and Ori and the blind forest Definitive edition ? I have to keep the 2 versions ?

You don't really have to play the old version unless you want trading cards, since they only drop on this one. Other than that you can just leave it in your library to gather dust I guess
