Constant crashes. GPU device instance suspended
"ERROR

d3d_device_context_->Map at rglGPU_device::lock_texture Failed!
The GPU device instance has been suspended. Use GetDeviceRemovedReason to determine the appropriate action."

Then the CrashUploader hangs..

I use an NVidia GeForce RTX 3080 with the driver from 4 June 2024.
I don't use any mods, just installed the game and safe mode doesn't help either.
Verified game files.

Deleting the Mount and blade folder inside "C:\ProgramData\" didn't work either.
Crashes occur when starting the game, randomly, when starting a battle.

Don't forget to do a clean install or the problem won't go away.

I still have this issue...clean install and every other fixes I can think of to include going back to older versions (1.2.8) and nothing helps, that error is as soon as character creation happens even in safe mode. this is by now beyond stupid.

I almost thought I fixed it by disabeling VSYNC...I was able to play the game for a full day...then today it did the same crash to me again...and reloading my safe instantly crashes me every attempt. so at this point the game is unplayable. I refuse to upload my error message seeing that multiple people have done so (the exact same error) so please DEV...fix your game, we paid for it after all!

Also worth getting them to check what CPU's are most common with these crashes if the majority are using Intel 13/14th gen series CPU's then it might not be a game bug it could be peoples CPU's that are at fault.

Theirs a bug in the micro code causing mostly 13900, 14900 and 14700 causing high voltage spikes which is causing instability issues and slowly killing peoples CPU's.

Intel has come up with a BIOS fix MSI already started rolling it out for their boards, guessing ASUS, Asrok and Gigabyte wont be far behind.

if you have a 13/14th gen CPU i recommend updating to the latest BIOS as soon as your board get the update.

Wendell at level 1 techs did a really good investigation in to the problems a few weeks back.

OP. I notice you do not have the game on Steam. Where did you acquire it? It may have a bearing on the possible solutions.

If you go to bannerlord in files then go to configs and delete everything in there that fixed mine, I had the same issue a couple days ago and this seemed to fix it.

I refunded it because I couldn't get a solution within the refund time and I don't want to be stuck with games that I paid for but cannot play. Even though, I was really looking forward to be playing this game :(.

I remember that this for me didn't work. I even also uninstalled, verified, etc. etc.

I suspect that it is related to the 13th gen Intel CPU.
