What are your battle tactics? Here is what I do with Sturgia....
Interested in knowing how leaders use the functions to impact battles....I do the below...it's fun, but not 100% certain most effective. Welcome thoughts! Thanks

I play Sturgia, and all my infantry are Strugia. I like to advance my infantry first protected on the flanks by two calvary groups....and when my infantry get in arrow/bolt range, I command a shield wall and continue to have them push up to the enemy....all while my archers slowly bring up the rear. Any cavalry that gets into the shield wall die....and my flanking cavalry protect against horse archers....I will protect my own archers as we advance.

If a very tough fight and the enemy is holding, i'll let arrows fly into my shield wall, while my archers cut down the enemy.

Otherwise, I allow the enemy to engage my shield wall and they stay in shield wall formation, then I look for a good spot for my archers to hold. Once infantry are engaged, I let the sergeants take over command of my cavalry....and I personally go hunting for leaders and high end enemy cavalry.

A shield wall infantry line from Sturgia is powerful....once the battle is turning in my favor, i order my infantry to charge (not too early though) as they'll now advance full speed to enemy archers

Looks solid and essentially that is what I do.

Sometimes I move troops to take advantage of height or bridge but mainly I press F6 and go after the archers to distract them and make them miss shots...

in others armies i like taking horse archers and flanking behind the main force. it confuses them to no end and puts them in a pincher of arrows where the main force has archers from the front.

heh yeah, I've gone behind enemies lines and see their entire archer line swing around and start shooting me. IT HURTS! Stupid question maybe....but does your speed and direction make it easier/more difficult for AI archers to hit you? Maybe it's cause there are 50 dudes shooting at me, but they feel incredibly accurate no matter my speed or direction

numbers mater. if your sitting there all your lonesome as one target you become a pin cushion. i generally turn the ai up as it improves both sides so they are pretty accurate on my settings as well moving and cover helps a lot.

outside the horse archers mobility while shooting and circling you can be more focused by having them move to a position and firing they can move fast and tactically retreat fast but using them that way when conducive is a lot like using normal archers but being able to get into position fast and out when needed.

Playing last night, i just started a war with the Khuziats (sp?)....well technically they declared war on me.

Anyway, my two castles and town (Tyal) are now the front lines for war....so run over there and get into some fights. Those horse archers are a pain in the #&$. Battles take a long time....what's weird is, they don't really hurt, they're just annoying. So now gotten to a point where a wipe out their foot troops as fast as I can then have my army "charge" to run down the horse archers. My character is getting a lot of kills too heh....but need to figure out better tactics here!!
