Recommended movies and wiki links for inspiration?
It crossed my mind Rollo is a big historical figure who founded the Normans. I think they are the best inspiration for Vlandians. Would anyone recommend any wiki links, historical characters or movies to help fans get inspired?

I always loved Charlton Hestons 60s El Cid. He was like an honourable warband leader.

There is a Rollo in Vikings. He is the brother of the famous Ragnar. In the tv series he marries and moves to Normandy and eventually rules it and fights against Vikings. However, it is not a story about him and you do not get to see the details of his life after he moves there.

I am not sure exactly what you are looking for, but here is an IMDB page listing Norman related stuff;

Not sure how you feel about history in general, but there is a Netflix show (finished now after 5 seasons) called The Last Kingdom. Basically one man starting after spawning in. He, just like your character, must raise a band and rise. The series more or less covers the years 866- 920.

This dude was a great Bannerlord & Warband character. A loyal general of his monarch, conqueror of nations, had a chance to became emperor himself, but resisted. Became a beggar in his later life, and general again, in order to save his city. He defeated Vandals, Goths and Persians. His wife was a @%$#, and a best friend of emperor's wife, who was a#^$% as well. His greatest rival among generals had no balls, literally.

This is probably a good representation of the spirit of Bannerlord:)

Last Kingdom was a good series, but far from historical accurate. They took a lot of "artistic freedom/liberities", if you want to call it that.
