Prevent death of old age
Hi,

Is there a mod or a way to stop aging in the middle of a game? I have reached 73 on my leader and he is about to die and I do not have a heir because I missed the time window (wife reached to high age).

So now my only option is my wife as leader who is 54 with bad skills or my brother that is 70.

Any suggestions is appreciated,

Thanks,

If you've already received the notification you're about to die, I'm not sure what you can do to avoid it besides reloading an earlier save if you have one.

Mods like Detailed Character Creation or Character Reload (I think these are the names) allow you to edit your (or any) character, which includes changing the age. You could de-age your character (and your wife).

There's also a mod - Mav's Expand your clan - that lets you adopt NPCs into your clan. Companions Expanded lets you turn Wanderer companions into full clan members as siblings or children. You could recruit one and make them a full member of your clan as another heir.

You could try the console command to make your spouse pregnant. I think it works regardless of your spouse's age. Of course, the kid has to survive to 18 - which you could age them up quickly with one of the mods I mentioned.

You could kill your wife via a console command and marry someone young enough to have a kid, then survive long enough for the kid to come of age.

Not sure how useful any of these ideas might be though.

What about your brothers? Did either of them have children?

You can make any family member your heir. Sister and younger brothers are good candidates. So get everyone to breeding.

easy solution:

there is a mountain called "the retreat" (or whatever) on worldmap.
at this place you can jump on your sword (or whatever) for fast death.
(use google/search for more info)

so take one of your clan member like your wife for heir.
now marry with your old wife any good lord from any clan.

go to the mountain for seeking death and take this new clan member for new mainchar.

Thanks guys.

Action Man: The Detailed Character Creation mod worked perfectly. I set the ages through the developer console and lock aging in the mod. Time to make some babies!

The problem with this is that your main does not die. He or she merely retires. Not dead. Cannot remarry.

I tried this with one game I have. My original main character went to the Retreat and retired and appointed Alda as successor. She immediately marries some 20-year-old hunk (Caladog's kid), which brings him into the clan.

Then to test this, I took Alda to the Retreat and she retired and appointed her spouse as new clan leader.

But he cannot remarry because she's not dead. She still shows as his spouse. I rode all over the place talking to lords, but I could not get the option to join our houses through marriage to trigger.

Alda still shows as alive, albeit retired, in the encyclopedia.

But with a 20-year-old clan leader, you've bought yourself about 40 years to find a successor.
