Starting your own kingdom

So to do the quest it says I nerd to have a imperial settlement but in the quest thing it says it's completed but when I talk to what's her face it says I need to own one so it doesn't register I have it. Help and if that doesn't work can I start my kingdom a different way?

Assign a governor, talk to governor, if you are high enough clan rank

You have to be clan tier 4, then assign a governor then say you want to start your own kingdom, however unlike in M&B Warband having your own kingdom is much harder, as you have to hunt down smaller clans that like you and have no land, to give them a ton of gold to join you. VS them coming to you to say "hey you seem like you'll treat me better than my lord that hasn't given me a fief I wanna join you!"

Should try to get a whole bunch of fiefs close together and fill their garrisons to the brim before you even think about start a kingdom. You don't want to be the one everyone pick on right out of the box -)
