Get a mod called "The Color of Profits"

Buy low and sell high and you level your trade pretty fast.

Trade xp depends on how much profit you make. So buy the most expensive things. Horses will be your best bet.

buy all the food from the town right before siege, then sell it back to the city after siege for big profit and lvl up trade

Trading is the grindiest skill to level. But if you need that sweet 300 for fief trading, there is a trick based on the mechanic that caravan prices are based on the nearest city market.

You need a lot of smithing materials to do this.

You catch a caravan near a city (close, so no need to move to talk) and pause the game. and then just:

1. Sell crude, wrought, iron, steel, fine steel to caravan (at a loss, they don't have moneys).
2. Enter the city sell damascene steel on the market. It will crater the prices.
3. Get out, buy back #1 from caravan. Cheap.
4. Enter the city, buy your damascene steel back. It will rise the prices.
5. Exit, sell #1 to caravan at huge profit (still a loss, but game counts the individual profit per item, so you get your XP).
Rinse and repeat.

I used it in my current playthrough (only difference I used steel to sell to city instead of Damascene steel) and it worked just fine.
