I wonder about mercy trait

I try saving village from raiding almost like 100 times, I still get no mercy trait, Is there anything I've done that devalues ​​mercy?

I don't think the game gives you Mercy points for that. Show Mercy after you siege a fief. You get +10 Mercy for a Castle, and +20 for a Town.

It takes 1000 points to gain the level 1 of a trait, and 4000 for the level 2.

Some quests will affect traits.
