So you could jump right in with Bannerlord if you want to.
I would warn you, however, that if you play Bannerlord without having played Warband, you won't be able to come here and whine about Bannerlord not having feasts or marshalls or those ♥♥♥♥♥♥ poems or maintenance free wokshops or any of the other Warband stuff that the Warband fanbois miss no much.
As for me, I don't miss those things at all.
Some minor pieces of contents Warband had are not present in Bannerlord, but the experience of Bannerlord is far more superior in my opinion ^^

Vanilla Bannerlord > Vanilla Warband
If you're getting into modding - specifically total conversions/major overhauls - Warband may be a better bet. TC's for Bannerlord are still in development at various stages, although you would have to check with the specific mods for their status.
Something funny about such feasts in this video -)
