For me, there is no more challenge after 20 hours, its just boring, except 1-2 big battles, this is huge different
However, you still see reasonable RPG progress in various forms (gear, skills etc. etc.) up to around day 200 perhaps and that is roughly the amount of time a campaign can keep me interested. Cutting down the length of the endgame would get a full campaign much closer to that limit.
I also never got into the GoT books - I don't like Martin's writing style. So that world never interested me.
Maybe I should give something like this a shot. What, mechanically, makes the game better? Troop overhauls are a dime a dozen, so I can find plenty of rebalances.
for example you can just join a lords army and the feature let you grow yourself to become a lord only as a simple soldier after some challenges
Bannerlord is primarily a game revolving around the battle.
Quite frankly it is already overbloated with features that are largely useless.
Here is a list of bannerlord features that I dont use or engage with.
- Quests
- Caravans
- Boardgames
- The courting game (just pay)
- Using influence to boost relationships
- Building & using siegegear
- Smithing
And some that i barely use
- Workshops. (despite my better judgement I always end up setting a few up when I form a kingdom and live to regret it.)
- Improving fiefs
There are probably other things that I dont use but they are so insignificant that I cant even recall them.
Ohh, and ofcourse. In a game that allows you to form and lead your own warband there isnt a snowballs chance in hell that I would join someone elses army or warband in any way, form or shape.
Different tastes.
Yes, there is -- Pirates. And pirate ships. Set in the Caribbean during the Golden Age of Piracy.
