D3D has encountered an error - Game Crash
Is there any fix or workaround for the above? tried whatever i can find online - no mods running and computer plenty strong enough to run (new error have hundreds of hours prior) all drivers up to date etc.
Edit: More details
Loading is fine - Standard movement is fine on campaign map- When i Beseige a castle/city the game crashes after I load in to assault - it gets past the deployment phase to where you start the battle and give orders and start moving, then it crashes
Help please.

But you do, or did have, have mods installed, correct?

I did yes - but uninstalled all and did a clean install

Are these the steps you followed when you did your clean install?

***To perform a Clean Install, Uninstall the game. You can do that by right-clicking the game on Steam Library and selecting Delete Local Content. Delete all folders related to the game that remains after the uninstallation. The folders that might have files inside:
Steam: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Mount & Blade II Bannerlord
C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\Mount and Blade II Bannerlord
C:\ProgramData\Mount and Blade II Bannerlord

Note: You'll need to allow Windows to display hidden folders and files to see the ProgramData folder and its contents.
At this stage, everything related to the game on your computer is deleted. Now you can re-install the game.***

I will do it again and see if it helps (my clean install was a complete wipe including the hidden files but happy to give it a second crack)

Well another full clean install and another crash - same message.

How many saves do you have? I think ive heard that too many saves can cause issues. can also try uninstalling microsoft onedrive, and maybe running game as administrator. Turn off steam cloud, turn off virus protection.

running the game as administrator seems to work, but it kinda kills my FPS
played for 1 hour or so and switched to normal, after 15 mins crashed again

Will try running as admin - saves should not be the issue but I will check to see how many (should only be my current campaign as I deleted all others due to version incompatibility)

Do you play on a laptop that has more than one graphic card

Probably just wait for a update and see if it ever works lol
Sounder Sep 17, 2023 @ 8:21pm
The only way I can get mine stable is running it on low settings and limiting the frame rate to 60 fps. Not ideal, but at least I can play it.
BlackPhanter Sep 18, 2023 @ 2:09am
i think this error has been persisting for quite a while :steamfacepalm:
BlackPhanter Sep 18, 2023 @ 2:52am
oh found out it was using the lesser graphic card while running as administrator
changed it now runs at 60 FPS, played for a while no crash so far
