If they did not, you'd win the game, by capturing everyone, probably by year 2.
riding 225 mounted patrols 50%
scouting 225 keen sight 50%
roguery 200 ransom broker 30%
athletics 75 stamina 10% - sounds like it but bannerlord perks offers nuanced info that suggests it works differently
EDIT: There are more and they are all broken up into party prisoners bonus/town prison bonus but you get the picture.
There is a mod called True Prisoners that does just that but never tried it. But thinking that someone made the mod i'm pretty sure it doesn't make the game boring and pointless. Also i tried once to execute every lord i encountered in order to destroy theri faction and it doesn't work. Lords keep spawning sadly. You have to wait soo much until you get a kid and he grows but if you go on a rampage roaming enemy lords do not drop at all. They even seem to be more of a swarm towards me.
So i suppose that even with the mod if you keep hoarding lords, it's quite possible that you will keep meeting enemies on the field anoying you during sieges or harrasing your towns.
I find it annoying that towns don't give that much income compared to how much gold lords ask to join your faction. That if you trade with lords, many barely have any gold but there are plenty of them running huge armies. So these systems are very bad, pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥ for a "sandbox".
- Once they are out, they get straight on recruiting soldiers and start raiding my villages again. Keeping them prisoners helps me avoiding getting villages harmed and decrease the enemies size of army.
- Cutting their heads off gives me a negative personality traits and bad reputation. Cutting too much heads and its irreversibel.
- Ransom money is to low. Getting around 10k for the ransom of a king doesnt make i woth it.
There are some skill perks to get to make you keep your prisoners longer. For example Roguery - Sweet talker, makes your prisoner 20% less likely to escape from towns. But from my experience, they always ends up escaping, you just delay their escape with those perks.
They can still break free from your party if you travel with them. Then you lose any money or influence potential.
I avoid cutting heads off unless absolutely necessary . For example Battania would not ♥♥♥♥ off after 10 years of war. So I killed Caladog and 2 other lords. Their economy plummeted .
So long as you dont go on some mass genocide of lords ..you'll be fine.
