Should my friend get Bannerlord but only for multiplayer with me? (MP vanilla and mods)
I already have the game but do you think it's worth it only for MP stuff like Full Invasion?

I would not buy Bannerlord just for the multiplayer.

played for 5 min and deleted the game it looks garbage and it controls garbage if you want a good game like this play chivalry this is not worth the money you will be shot with arrows and never be able to get a kill

3k+ player here.

Dont, its full of cheaters and griefers. Reports doesnt do anything. The MP maps and factions is based on voting and you can freely join the team you want. Theres a big griefer group on their own private Discord and they manipulate everything as well as stacking team.
Dont waste your money.

Thanks for the insight gang. But what about multiplayer mods like Persistent Empires, Bannerlord Online and Full Invasion 3?

classic skill issue.

**but the multiplayer of this game does still suck.

Expect servers to have an average of single-digit to mid-10s population, because the only people who even play the PVP anymore only care about flexing their loyalty to Steam.

Except the most optimal way to play TaleWorlds' melee game is to be in a team that plays the archer class exclusively and shoot from cover to avoid getting shot at yourself. Anyone that tries to play as a melee unit is just a free kill when archers are just being spammed, and losing the ability to spawn as an archer in a game with massed archers is effectively the same as being removed from the game, since all you will do is feed kills to the enemy team.

And if you're in an all-archer team while your enemies still insist on trying to play the melee game like a melee game, accuracy is honestly optional, since you can shoot enough arrows downrange at the enemy's general direction that you'll eventually hit something.

That should give enough explanation as to why very few people even want to bother with M&B multiplayer in current year.

Bannerlord Online seems to be going strong, with devs still working on it. I think Full Invasion has something in the works and might make a big comeback but in the meantime there's CI's LOTR Full Invasion server. CRPG has a similar mode to Full Invasion as well, called Defend the Viscount. There's also a coop campaign mod being developed but that might be far in the future.

Persistent Empires is a bit dead, the honeymoon phase is over and the big clans that made the mod what it was, have moved on. Sometimes a new update or another PE based mod gets released and sometimes the server gets 200+ ppl in the first week but it dies down pretty quickly.

If you like big battles, on EU there's usually 400+ player battles on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday, you'll have to join a clan to participate though, search on youtube and there might be a clan discord invite in a video's description. I think NA has a battle event with Atria and it also has the reddit m&b discord's event, the Calradic Campaign which averages 200+ players.

In-game matchmaking is a bit dead for EU, sometimes u can find games on the weekend. It's especially dead for NA. For captain or skirmish, you'll probably want to join community discords. Both game modes have community ran tournaments/leagues fairly often but most players tend to have a hundred+ or even thousands of hours of playtime and it might not be a welcoming place for brand new players that haven't or aren't willing to improve.

Thanks for the comprehensive write up, gang. Yea I remember trying the vanilla MP and it seemed like a poor man's Chivalry 2 which we already played a lot which is why I'm more interested in mods. The COOP campaign stuff sounds interesting
