My castle is building nothing!
I ordered to build workshop, garden and granary in my castle. After 15-20 days I returned to castle and nothing is built! Is appointing a governor necessary to building?

How many days did it say it would take to build? castle build rates are really trash unless you pour money in to them.

It states how much production a thing needs and how much your castle currently got.
New castles usualy are pretty slow.

An engineer govenor help a fair bit, but is not needed. Paying for a boost also helps.

I'd guess you got 7 production, not it takes 7 days.

i hade the same problem with a town. zero building speed. i think it depends from prosperty... the town had only 50 prosperty (normal is 2000+).

i spend 20k money to improve building and taked a companion as governeur in the citie. now it works.

Yes, Productivity is partly tied to prosperity.

I usually just dump 50k to 100k funds into a town/castle so the workers have a motivation to put brick on brick, if you know what I mean. It takes forever for castles and settlements to be fully fleshed out, so focus on workshop (more building speed for next projects) and food, because if you don't have enough food your prosperity goes down = construction will be affected too.

The biggest source of construction is either prosperity or dumping money into the storage that drains over time to add construction. I think the governor only speeds up the construction by a percentage, but doesn't add any so it won't improve if it's 0 construction
Check your loyalty and security of the castle. I've found that if it is low, workers will refuse to build.

Just checked and its wrong.
My 80 engi-govenor adds always 20, but loyality seems to scale with the current and add a % bonus.
