If you don't play multiplayer, I think there is some benefit in keeping up with the latest beta as you get all the features that are currently available. That's unless your favourite mod does not run in beta.

I enjoy my strategy. I recommend playing the latest version you can get your hands on, but wait until it is able to run with the mods you like. When it just gets updated, you can try playing with your outdated mods and it may or may not work. Use the "Check for updates" feature of the Vortex mod manager to automatically check for updates and see if you can play after waiting a couple days for modders to update their stuff. It usually works out for me in a short amount of time.

i play single player as multiplayer is dead. so which version should be used then?

Right click bannerlord from your steam library and go to properties. Then go to beta, click to slide down the list of betas.

Currently the latest one is e1.5.2.
Click that to opt in, then wait for it to update and then launch the game.

Later, when a newer version rolls in, you'll have to opt in again.

if you want your sheep update, play 1.5.2

but must i stay doing this every update or do they add the beta to the default verion then?

It needs to be renewed for each versions.

You need to opt into new betas when they come out each time. Say you get e1.5.2 (current beta) now, once that version goes main branch, you'll stay on e1.5.2 (you go from beta to main).

You'll have to opt in again for the next new beta branch, which will be e1.5.3 or e1.6.0, if you want the newest stuff again.

Thankfully, it's not that much of a hassle.

but y must i always restart my campaing each update
Pistachio Sep 11, 2020 @ 2:29pm
You don't have to restart campaigns.
When loading the save from previous version, it'll give a warning about wrong modules, but you can ignore that. Unless there is a major mechanism change, I haven't had a problem.
We would always recommend that you play the game on the main branch if you are looking for a more stable, balanced, and generally more enjoyable experience. While we do try to ensure that the beta branch is relatively bug-free, the purpose of that branch is for testing, so naturally, you can expect to run into issues there.
