Do companions upgrade their troops?

All of my companions have 100 recruits in their groups and they never upgrade them, it's so annoying. So here's my question, do they even can upgrade troops? Or is there any mod for that?

they need to fight battles to upgrade their troops, just like how the player does

I just fought with them 2 whole armies, and conquered one caste but still no one upgraded their troops.

Because they need experience?

As i said before, they've got plenty experience from defeating two enemy armies and conquering one castle with me. But they still have army of recruits, even after all of that.

They upgrade troops and replace lost troops. If they are losing too many troops in battle try upping their medicine skill. Otherwise they may always have "green" troops.

If you are using mods, all bets are off and you should have opened with that.

in Troop Menu you can give them a wallet. If they dont have Money they dont upgrade.

What you on about? You can set party wage limit for party,or tick the box for unlimited. In any case they use YOUR wallet for upgrades and expenses.

This... wounded troops recover and fight another day, and gain xp.. dead ones doesn't -)

I was just wondering the same. Have 3 of my companions in my Army. Swapped troops and had about 100 troops w no upgrades. Checked and none have money. Tried to trade, can't give them money.

Actually this might be a good thing because I can just keep trading troops and upgrading how I see fit, then give them back fully upgraded troops.

Again... They use YOUR wallet... Your wallet is clan wallet. You pay for everything..
