This gives you the documentation on the editor tools, may not answer you questions, but maybe the official forums as well ;)
I just spend a bit of time looking through that... I hadn't really examined it, before.
It's got a ton of very nice features in a fairly user-friendly graphical environment. I am somewhat surprised at that. (I do remember seeing vids and the like, but was expecting a more trimmed down "user version" sort of thing.
Looks like I'll have to start getting familiar with this widget...
Thank you very much!

But with the game still in EA things can be outdated as soon as they are released.
Was gonna say just that.
There's a few video tutorials on YouTube as well, a search reveals a few guides etc. but trying to get a lot of information is sketchy at this point.
One of the best documents I did come across in there was Basic World Mapping guide

That was very nice! It was nice to see notations and quotes from the developers in response to what would probably be common questions someone new to editing would run across. ie: Q: "Why my thing no work?, A: "You did it wrong, so you need to do this instead." Good stuff!
I'm really keen to find out about custom rigging, though. In devblogs, one of the highlights that really perked me up was the ease of importing custom rigs. (Skeletons) I saw some mention of FBX formats in links/guides, but they weren't directly related to importing a custom rig into the game. The editor appears to allow the editing of existing rigs, but goes no deeper and the Skeleton and Animation portions of the guide are blank... That makes me nervous. :) (I know it's still in also in Beta, so I still have hope.)
Custom rigs and animations for them would mean we could put high quality... "anything" into the game that's a rigged thing. "Giant eight-limbed space-dragon? Done!" With Warband, some rigging options were limited. So very many re-used horse rigs for fantasy creatures.... :)
