Bannerlord offers zero strategic gameplay
If you ever played strategic game like total war or paradox`s games you`ll know this game lack utterly strategic aspect, you just need to press f1+f3 and repeat for every battle

Do that in siege bro when ennemy army are 1800 and you are only 500.

I won this battle with the power of F6

F6 is the new meta

Vanilla, yes. Reason: Armor is useless. All fights are a soup mixture and the only reason "formations" even exist is because of forced AI behavior, not actual collisions. So strategy isn't important because it comes down to pure weapon ability + numbers.

With mods, different story. Simply increasing armor value makes it a much more strategic game.

Agreed, in vanilla it's just F1+F3, Sun Tzu-style.
With mods that rebalance the game you start seeing a point in using other commands and actual formations.

Like playing Stellaris. Make just one type of ships, because.... that is strategic? Playing Total War and make just one type of units, because...strategic?....

Also, if you only do F1-F3 when playing Bannerlord. I guess you play on dead easy, and never fought seriously outnumbered....

i dont care if its strategic or not. bannerlord is much fun to play.

how much more strategic was warband ?!?
The lack of any sort of battlefield objective outside of sieges really diminishes strategic depth. There's some tactics to be used like trying to make sure cavs get good charges or archers are on hills and protected but it's ultimately quite simple and usually a very solvable problem.

Never once will you feel like "damn, this battle is so hard because of the enemies strategic outmaneuvering.".

Sieges work a lot better because theres multiple points to attack and the attackers really only need to succeed at one spot. If you get a foothold on the walls or batter down the gate, the defenders advantage is mostly neutralized so this incentivizes dividing your forces and trying to attack their weakest section or at least avoid wasting troops on hard to attack ladders. I don't think the AI actually uses strategy here though like trying to overwhelm one point or having detachable reinforcements to help out struggling defenders.

What an idiotic comparison.

:/ that's all I got to say at this point.

Realistic Battle Mod.

I really don't see the point in comparing the strategic depth of Bannerlord to a turn-based or strategic-map-only game where you have full control over every single aspect of the game, from single units to global strategic implementation. They are basically different games. That's like saying the first person shooter aspects of Minecraft are terrible compared to Destiny 2.

Game worth only cuz moders make it great on Nexxus

lulz... Hit early access on steam 30 Mar, 2020..... Maybe if time flow in the real world was close to how it work in the game you would be close to right...

First you state it have no modders and then you give example of Nexus got mods,

You flail your arms all over the place -)

I believe what you are seeing is real battle. Its not some turn based battle where you get to take time to decide your actions. Its not chess. You have to make split second decisions to decide the outcome. It is still strategic you just have to make decision quickly. If you think there is no strategy it just means that YOU have no strategy.

I disagree. If you are not playing on easy mod, F1F3 will cause large casualties and will not work when you are outnumbered.

literally the same - F1+F3...accept the options in the game weren't even there to mess with, just 'stand closer/further'
