No More Rogue Clans - factionless clans will join up with other AI clans, not yours. By default it happens within a game day or two, or you can use an addon that delays it a couple weeks. If you have another mod that allows you to recruit factionless clans, this addon gives you time to recruit them before they join a different faction.
Allegiance Overhaul - In addition to factionless clans joining others, it also has other options you should review and set. I believe you can recruit factionless clans with this mod as well.
I'm not aware of a mod that has factionless clans just join your faction. The player still has to recruit.
I'd like them to approach you especially if you're friendly with them
Is this not a feature of diplomacy too? Clans asking to join you I mean. If not I gotta go download some more mods
Try reading the OP before commenting stuff like this.
I was quite clear I was focusing on clans which're part of a defeated kingdom, as it stands a kingdom's clans (after destruction) just roam the map for a bit and then disappear having been "Destroyed" and the characters disappear. I was hoping to find a mod which meant that after a Kingdom is destroyed, those clans would try to migrate or join other kingdoms. I am obviously well aware I can just barter with clans which're part of other kingdoms to join me using money, I am not a novice to the game.
@Clearly Hopeless - It's not part of Diplomacy no. The mods Action Man suggested seem to be the only ones I can find which come close to allowing these.
@Action Man - I will say though AM I don't see an option within the AO mod (which is what I downloaded) to allow me to set faction less clans to join other kingdoms (As it stands, they just remain on the map for a bit then disappear), I might need to review the settings properly though. It's a bit of a shame that the game doesn't try to (in vanilla) have clans moving about like they did in Warband (I know in Warband sometimes a "clan" would get 'caught in treason' and then hide with another faction, or just outright join other kingdoms whilst abandoning the old one), it can quickly lead to the game world feeling a little empty as children being born doesn't seem all that common.
No More Rogue Clans is a mod that has factionless clans join other factions, but not the player's. The base mod has it happen within a couple in game days. Or you can use an addon that delays it a few weeks, in case you have a mod that lets you recruit factionless clans.
Wow, really stretching your 3 braincells to comment that one.
Ah that's all fair. It's kind of annoying it's so low and not in anyway adjustable via the mod options, but having recently seen a video discussing the modding problems with this game I imagine the reasoning is due to keyword or lack of understanding/resources. But it would be really nice to have the option so clans would naturally migrate to cultures similar to them or ones they have friendly relations to the leader of. I might chat with a friend I recently bought the game for who expressed some interested to mod it to see if he can cobble somit together.
Not exactly no, but something similar because it felt like things were a bit more fluid rather than being rigid.
Anyway, there isnt really a one size fits all here. Before factiondestruction one of the most common complains was that clans would stick around forever. Now they can join factions but without a source of income they are still mainly a nuisance and a drain on that factions resources.
Edit: I checked out the allegiance overhaul mod everyone was talking about. . .yeah that's what I was thinking of
