Paid expansion before finishing the first game
So you want us to pay money for something new before you even fully finished the first game? That sounds pretty greedy to me.

Some people feel entitled to free content forever.

Diplomacy? Very boring end game where it's just auto resolve sieges over and over again.

iunno man. no content updates for 1.5 years. and at 1.8 years they are making you pay for content. sounds pretty greedy as hell to me. esp with MP not getting touched, and them USING MP to kinda promote this is kinda back handed.

there is alot to not like about this announcement. more than there is to like i can tell you that.

if you think the base game is finished. im glad for you. i would wager there are alot more people who think otherwise.

There is diplomacy, it's just not at the level you want it to be. Different things that. TaleWorld made the game they said they would. You not happy about it is another thing. No one forces you to play the game, or buy a new dlc. There is new content and features coming to the base game as well for free.

You know what I do when I find a game boring? I find another game to play. You should try it -)

the combat is fine, but all the overworld campaign stuff does still feel very bare bones.
Here's hoping the expansion will add some of the needed improvements to the base game.

I think what they said in the base game plans explain some of that.

"We had also been working on another project that was planned as a more story-driven DLC. While this was an interesting new approach, it ultimately didn't meet the quality we aim for. Rather than talking about and releasing something we weren’t happy with, we made the tough decision to cancel its launch. These hurdles caused a delay in our communication and we sincerely appreciate your patience during this time. The good news is that instead of shelving the work, we will be repurposing the new gameplay mechanics from this canceled project as content for the base game."

Think the backlash would been far worse if they announced they had been working on such a dlc, then later had to announce they scratched it as it didn't pan out.

More than 1000h played for an initial cost of 30€. I will gladly give them anotehr 30€ for another additional 1000h x)
Keep crying
Pretty much what I thought - those that are already unhappy with the game aren't going to change their opinion with a DLC announcement.
For me, it doesn't matter what TW has promised in the past and how well it has delivered at this point. As a huge fan of the M&B series for many years, all I can see in the time I've played and every time I look back on the game is wasted potentials. Those who played the previous series for a long time always had such expectations. So paid or free, it would be nice the game will reach the level that everyone wants one day. But TW continues to act very irrelevant to this expectations.

Vote with your wallet, if you are an unsatisfied customer then don't buy it.

I played every mount and blade game from the beginning. Loved them all. Bannerlord was a direct upgrade from them. You would be lying to say it wasn't. People these days seem to expect every game to have EVERY feature possible a game could have, and be perfect for them individually or it was a failure. Only unrealistic people had "such expectations". The devs made THEIR game, improved on THEIR game. It isn't what you wanted yourself, so it is time to realize niche games like mount and blade series will miss elements other games have in order to achieve their own goals. You have all of steam to find features you like. People need to stop blaming devs of games.
