Tournament Frequency

Hey all, long time warband fan here.

I just started playing bannerlord yesterday, and one thing I noticed is that Tournaments are extremely common. It seems like nearly every town is hosting one, and they start back up within a day or two.
I entered into 7 tournaments over 4 ingame days just doing a circuit between the same 3 cities. Is this intended? Is there away to change tournament frequency? It seems way too easy to acquire high value items from the rewards.

if it happens it is intended, for whatever reason, and if you don't like it, just don't do them
