Need help from you smart people. I installed mods, removed them now I can't play the game..
I played like over a year ago and played with 10 mods. I just now deleted my mods, and reinstalled the game and now I get this error every time.

ERROR: Module xml modules/bannerlord.butterlib\submodule.xml can't be loaded, there are some errors?

I'm not sure what else I could do. I have no mods installed. The game was also a fresh install. TY.

well, most de- or reinstalls still let some files on the drive, which wont get "reinstalled" cause they are there.

maybe this just happend and file was modified by any of your mods but won't work proper with vanilla version.

first way: find this file, delete it, make "verify game files" over steam, and it should download the original file.

second way: find your gamefolder and any other other related bannerlord folders, deinstall game. delete folder(s) manually, reinstall game.

That error is proof your mods haven't been properly in/un-installed.

Good call dude.. after looking into it some more. I found the modules folder with all the mods still in it. I had originally had it installed on a different drive. It's all good now game launches. !! lol

Always keep a back up friend and if you really get into installing mods and such just be aware things can be a little bit well.. Uhhm ye XD complicated :P van recommend you to stick to a version and install mods slowly but surely you miss. Always test it a bit before actually continuing with it always make a back up save from before you installed it. For me the amount of content and quality of life I get from 1.6.2 makes it absolutely not worth updating..

There used to be a near daily post by the "moderators" about how to make sure you removed mods correctly.

Basically you have to "delete" some bannerlord file. I forget which one. It was super common, and I don't mod so never thought to write it down. I have searched TECH SUPPORT section dozens of times in the past to find the "copy paste" from the moderator to help regular folk in the GENERAL DISCUSSION section. it doesn't take long.

Anyway, too lazy to do that now. but the link above is ALSO from the Tech support section, so if deleting the files they tell u to delete don't work. Try all the things they mention.

Trust me, This isn;t the first thread where someone had issues removing mods. And there are many people who get it to work... So this is a common problem. And there IS A FIX. Since others get it to work.

I'd start with the link above. If not, you can ask "psycho". he's the mod expert. Made a NICE guide in Bannerlord , I recommend anyone using mods to check it out. and upvote it

:)

Good luck
