Best polearms to horse fight
What is the best polearm to fight on the horses's back. Rhomphalia in game is 2h weapon, not polearm.

I have never understood the love for the Glaive in these threads when the Menavlion is clearly the better weapon.
Those extra cutting damage points matter, especially against higher armor that does mitigate at least some cutting damage.

Thrust performance is, frankly, irrelevant, since if you want to poke things, might as well just go with a long-ass dedicated lance and have that extra 20-30 length buffer to prevent taking damage at all.

Glaive is a hybrid mounted/foot swing weapon. The only reason I don't go directly for the long glaive is that I like to get off the horse and slug it out with groups to break up the monotony on frequent basis.

If you're looking purely at mostly mounted weapon, long glaive brings both length and damage. Swing speed doesn't matter as much when you're doing ride-by ganking.

Hybrid reference relevance? The Glaive and the Menavlion are basically the same weapon except the Menavlion is a little bit better.

Ride-by ganking is essentially all I do, mostly running down other horseriders, and I one hit most of them so the damage difference doesn't matter much to me. The small differences in the other stats more than make up for it.

Thrust performance only comes into play when I screw up and get caught in a scrum. Then it becomes the most effective attack, so not irrelevant.

If an experienced player doesn't understand the value of the better timing and more swings that higher swing speed gives, then I doubt that anything I say is going to enlighten them.
