Im just answering the OP's question.
its that time of day.
OH, but maybe I'll make my child a smith lol. Forgot about that
Swinging polearms are great too, but the poking ones hit first. But the swinging ones superior in skirmish. Probably having both isn't bad idea, especially if you didn't go 2H route.
Has been a while since I used polearms, especially the menavliaton honestly. Do remember it felt faster and smoother with release thrusts if thats whats your looking for. And case and point since I stick to the Glaive now?
Speaking of op polearms, is it still possible to craft Throwable/swingable/pokeable Swordstaffs? Remember crafting 4 of those and using them on horseback.
The Menavlion is superior in every way except it does 22 less damage which is minor because of the speed damage bonus on horseback. Majority of my connected swings are one hit kills.
I have never understood the love for the Glaive in these threads when the Menavlion is clearly the better weapon.
For me, mostly just cuz it doesn't make a huge difference between the 2 with horseback speed in. So for pure style points. Hah.
Though most playthroughs I just stick to 2handed, and pick up a few points in 1h and polearm just for boosting troops as captain.
