recruit companions

Hi guys, I still need help.
As per the title, how do I recruit companions for my clan. In the campaign mode it tells you to have 20 men 2000 money and then you find it... In sandbox I can't find it.

You can find Wanderers in Taverns in the towns.

You recruit troops by clicking the Recruit Troops link in the fief menu.

You can find companions right away, even in the campaign. Just check the tavern in every town and if there's someone there, they will show up in the top bar. You can then talk to them and recruit them as a companion. They'll have crappy clothes and weapons btw, so I usually just wait until I have a bit of money to buy them at least something that won't have them killed immediately.

You can also go to encyclopedia (n), select heroes, scroll down the right bar till you find occupation, select wanderer, it will list the current heroes and where they were last seen. They can move before you reach the last place so be aware. You can also pay each tavern owner for the location for a hero with specific skills, like one that has a high skill in medicine.
