in the end it isnt a great problem loosing some troops, u will get them back sooner or later.
^-- This.
When I form an Army I make sure to visit every Village I can along the way so that Lords can recruit. I also visit every front-line Town so they can donate to the garrison and/or recruit.
As a result, I'm actively and purposefully moving troops to where they're needed.
Of course, if it were my at my own expense, that might be not as rewarding... But, even so, it's still pretty much a win/win. :)
I've never seen a bloc of 60 or so donated by one party, though. (I don't give Companions battlefield Commands.)
That wasn't really my point, though.
I couldn't have given my companions bad troops, because every single troop I had in my party, and all of my heroes parties, were tier 5 and tier 6. It was an army of elite troops 400+ strong, just like I wanted it. And every party member slot that either I or my companions had was an elite troop.
If you're going to tell me that the solution is "don't use good troops in your armies because they give them away" well I kinda figured that out already the hard way, and it is a non-solution as far as I am concerned. I wanted to know if there was a way to flat out stop them from doing it.
Thanks for your suggestion about neutral towns, though it is still really limiting when I have stuff to do in our own territory (which is 1/3rd of the map at this point), and also when we are at war with half of the world, leaving about 17% of settlements that I can actually visit without my companions handing out free real estate without my permission.
The look on my face when I saw "Garmund Bitterdraft +54 troops to settlement" is only something I can imagine.
Surely, a Clan of your stature owns or can commission the construction of a guillotine? :)
See, that's the thing you should roleplay out. Relive him of his commission, dump him back in your party, assign him to his own Group and repeatedly order him to charge at the outset of every battle... naked.
Or, just with that stupid "Leather Mushroom Cap" hat. (Godawful looking thing... NOBODY in any real-life Era in the World of Man would voluntarily wear such a thing.)
2) the clans always dismiss most garisson
so dont give them fiefs with much garrison,
Glad to know they haven't fixed ♥♥♥♥ though
I've used different mod setups in the past that stopped my clan parties from donating troops to any garrison.
I can understand that part, but I'm not the AI. The player should be allowed to keep his troops by default and only donate manually if he chooses to do so.
What mods can block this auto-donation action?
The player party does not donate troops automatically. Only the AI controlled parties in your army do that.
i have seen them disbanding the garrison (it wasnt starvation), at the same time the castle was in siege from a enemy army.
the AI is sometimes so bad coded from TW, it isnt funny ...
The clan that end up with the fief doesn't necessary have the income to support the size of the garrison, that is why it get down sized. They can't smith 2h swords like you do to afford the upkeep -)
ruffio, im not a little kid. im not dump ?!?
i dont care what AI can afford or what income the AI have.
but i care that they spend 200+ good units for nothing.... they kill them !
this is simple a VERY BAD balance tool, to slow down very strong factions and avoid snowballing...
