I had constant crashes every 5 minutes.
To fix this, I changed the power supply configuration:
I set the hard disk to shut down after 20 minutes of inactivity on battery and set it to never shut down (0 minutes) when plugged in.
The default options i had on Windows 11 were 1 minute of inactivity shutdown for both battery and plugged-in modes.
I’m playing on version 1.2.10 with a save file from version 1.2.8, and I’m no longer experiencing crashes.
The mods I’m using are Harmony and Character Reload Fix.
My pc :
Windows 11
32 Gb RAM
Two ssd hard drives internal and external
Processor 11th Gen Intel Core i7 3.30GHz
Nvidia RTX 3050 Ti 4gb VRAM.
I’ve read in some forums that sometimes low inactivity time for the hard disk can interrupt some processes and cause program instability.
My question is, does this happen only to external hard disks?
This link below is old but explains what happened to some users on Windows 10.

I was constantly experiencing the ‘file read error,’ and here are some of the crashes I encountered:
-The game crashed when I paused it for a while and then returned, especially when zooming in and out on the campaign map.
-It also crashed when distributing focus and perk points.
-Browsing in the trade shop triggered a crash.
-Pressing the ‘done’ button resulted in crashes.
-Leaving the game idle in the main menu caused crashes.
-Loading or manually saving the game led to crashes.
To resolve these issues (on Windows 11) this is what i did:
-I turned off the power supply inactivity options for the hard disks.
-I ran the Windows 11 ‘compatibility problems’ check twice on ‘TaleWorlds.MountAndBlade.Launcher.exe’.
When asked about any problems with the program, I selected ‘none above.’ After that,
I ran the ‘compatibility problems’ check again and chose ‘give more permissions.
-Additionally, I did something that is typically only done for downloaded mods, i unlocked the DLL files.
I opened my command console in administrator mode and entered the following commands:
cd "your drive letter:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Mount & Blade II Bannerlord\Modules"
gci -recurse | Unblock-File
These steps resolved my crash problems with Bannerlord.
I have other games in my library, such as Age of Empires 2 and MechWarriors 5, which never crashed.
However, Rune Factory 5 was crashing sometimes. After making the hard disk power suply option change , Rune Factory 5 stopped crashing.
So, some games in my library were crashing while others weren’t.
Sometimes having a odd install, not to normal C: drive for instance, can also cause issues. Either way, turn off all forms of cloud save garbage as that can cause issues also. OneDrive/Steam, etc.

Afaik Warband was written in Python and Bannerlord use c# can't just throw code from one game into another across different programming languages.
