How to put different troops into different groups NOT JUST BY TYPE

I got Troop A and B. They are both let's say archers. How do I put them into different groups?
I am pretty sure I was able to do that when I was still playing.
Did they removed that? If yes, how am I going to train new troops?

If I got a full army of khan's guard. After some battles, I got 100 space. So I go recruit some sons and train them up. I want to put all sons into a separate group, so I can order them to charge to actually kill some troops, or guards will kill eveyrthing.

I know I can create a party and separate the army that way. But just asking what's the solution for now?

You don't. Ranged is ranged. You can splitt up Archers and xbow with shields. That about it.

How to train new troops? Use them to kill stuff, that is usually how it works.

Because they made a new system long time ago. So I guess you haven't played in a long time either -)

Ok, from what I can gather what you really just want is to have a group of your lower tier units that you can feed.

In the prebattle window you just make a second horse-archer group and then you set its preference to lower tier and adjust the slider so it covers the number of those troops that you want to level.

You need an amount of troops for it. Unsure. 15 or 20. Then again i haven´t played on the .10 patch...

But as said before: it´s not really super helpful, as they made a new system long ago, for taleworlds only knows what reasons. My guess is because of the AI, which would never really play tactical, or use many groups.

Also You wouldn´t get the screen if You help someone out.

20 soldiers/units is the minimum for a prebattle screen. If you're joining any battle in progress, you don't get the prebattle screen.

I seiged a city to garrison the troops to force a low tier troop only training spree. lol
